Papago (Tohono O’odham) Basket – Arizona, 1991, 14" Diameter
This authentic Papago (Tohono O’odham) basket was handwoven on the Papago Reservation in Southern Arizona and is dated August 1991 on its original tag. Crafted with traditional methods, the inner coils are made from beargrass; the white and green colors are from desert yucca, and the black details are derived from the pod of the devil’s claw. The basket displays a classic geometric pattern and represents the enduring artistry of Tohono O’odham weaving.
Measuring 14 inches in diameter and 2 1/8 inches tall, this basket is well-suited for display on a wall or table. Complete with its original descriptive tag, it offers both visual appeal and cultural significance—an excellent addition for collectors of Native American art and Southwestern design.
