Description

Vintage Pueblo Lone Mountain Turquoise Nugget Necklace

An exceptional vintage necklace featuring natural Lone Mountain turquoise nuggets from Nevada, hand-strung in a dramatic graduated layout ranging from 8.14 mm to 30.22 mm. The nuggets display the vivid blue-green coloration and rich matrix patterns for which Lone Mountain turquoise is celebrated. Four sterling silver bench beads are interspersed among the largest stones, enhancing their visual impact. The strand is finished with 5.33 mm shell heishi beads and a traditional sterling hook clasp, all strung on durable wire.

The Lone Mountain Mine has long been regarded as one of the premier turquoise sources in the world, producing exceptional nugget material, spiderweb and golden matrix varieties, and some of the rarest turquoise known. This necklace, weighing 127.9 grams and measuring 22.5 inches, reflects the artistry of mid-20th-century Southwestern jewelry, blending Pueblo (Kewa/Santo Domingo) heishi bead traditions with Navajo silverwork influences. A highly collectible and wearable piece, suitable for both connoisseurs and those seeking a bold statement necklace.

Condition

Good vintage condition, with natural surface inclusions and age-appropriate wear. The turquoise exhibits characteristic matrix and host rock. Sterling bench beads and clasp tested as sterling and remain secure. Please review photos for close-up details.
