1968 Canada Quarters – 17 Coins, Caribou Design, Nickel or Silver
Offered here are 17 Canadian 25-cent pieces dated 1968, packaged in a vintage First National Bank wrapper marked “17 – 1968.” The obverse carries Arnold Machin’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse features Emanuel Hahn’s caribou design.
The 1968 quarter was struck in both nickel and 50% silver compositions, with no visual distinction between the two. Based on appearance, these examples present as nickel issues, though weight testing would confirm. With a combined face value of $4.25, this lot represents a circulated group of quarters from a transitional year in Canadian coinage.
Condition
Coins are circulated with typical wear, surface marks, and discoloration consistent with age. All dates remain visible. Wrapper shows folds and handling wear but remains intact. Please review photos for representative condition.
