1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar – San Francisco Mint – .900 Silver
This listing features an 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint. The obverse presents Liberty’s profile wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath, surrounded by the legend “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and thirteen stars. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch, encircled by a laurel wreath, with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “ONE DOLLAR” inscriptions. The “S” mintmark is visible below the wreath. The 1881-S issue is recognized for its strong strike quality and was produced in large numbers during the height of the Morgan Dollar series.
