Description

Gilbert Adeky Navajo Sterling Silver & Kingman Turquoise Cluster Belt Buckle — 26 Stones

Sterling silver belt buckle signed G. ADEKY (Gilbert Adeky, Navajo), featuring a striking 26-stone cluster of natural Kingman turquoise. The cabochons, ranging from approximately 0.2" to 0.7", are set in hand-cut sawtooth bezels and accented with silver drop beads. A stamped foliate border frames the design, showcasing the balance of silver and turquoise typical of Navajo cluster work.

Measuring 3" x 2.5" x 0.9" and weighing 69.32 grams, the buckle is both substantial and finely executed. The turquoise displays vibrant sky-blue coloration with natural matrix, a hallmark of the Kingman mine in Arizona, prized by Navajo silversmiths for its beauty and consistency.

Gilbert Adeky is recognized as a Navajo silversmith active during the mid-20th century, with documented works including buckles, concho belts, bracelets, and rings. His hallmark is well established, and this example represents the strength of his traditional silversmithing: bold turquoise cluster design supported by precise and confident silverwork.

Condition

Good condition overall. The turquoise stones are secure in their settings. Silver shows natural patina and light wear consistent with age. Some oxidation and verdigris are present on the reverse hardware. Polishing has been left to the buyer’s discretion.

Dimensions

  • 3" x 2.5" x 0.9"
  • Weight: 69.32 grams
  • Stones: 26 total, approx. 0.2"–0.7"

A strong example of Navajo silversmithing from Gilbert Adeky, combining traditional cluster design with quality turquoise and substantial silverwork. A fine addition for collectors of Native American jewelry or those seeking a statement accessory rooted in Navajo craftsmanship.
