Sherry Gara Abstract Acrylic Painting
Vibrant abstract acrylic painting by Sherry Gara (1938–2025), artist and noted animal-welfare advocate from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Gara’s work is distinguished by expressive brushwork and luminous color harmonies. This composition blends layered hues of turquoise, cobalt, violet, and gold, creating a fluid, landscape-like abstraction. Signed “Sherry Gara” at the lower right.
Professionally framed on stretched canvas (no glass), the piece reflects Gara’s intuitive sense of movement and color balance. Beyond her art, Gara was a founding member of S.N.A.P. (Spay and Neuter Action Program) and an active supporter of animal rescue efforts in southern New Mexico—devoting much of her life to compassion and creativity in equal measure.
Condition
In good condition with no known damage or restoration. The paint surface remains vibrant and well preserved. The frame is structurally sound, showing only mild wear from handling.
