Handcrafted by the Bristlecone Pine Company of Monte Vista, Colorado, this substantial two-drawer jewelry box is sculpted from a single solid trunk of ancient Bristlecone Pine — among the oldest living trees on Earth. Each piece was uniquely formed to preserve the natural contours, knots, and bark edge of the wood, creating a one-of-a-kind organic silhouette.

Produced in the San Luis Valley by local artisans, these boxes were inspired by the traditions of old mountain woodcarvers and finished by hand with fine Danish oil. The drawers are velvet lined and slide smoothly within the carved hollows. The underside bears the branded company logo: Bristlecone Pine Co., Monte Vista, Colorado, Made in U.S.A. Accompanied by the original printed literature detailing the company’s history and the legendary 1880s forest fire that yielded much of their reclaimed wood.

Bristlecone Pine (Pinus aristata), native to the high Rocky Mountains, is prized for its extreme density, longevity, and richly grained, weathered beauty—often sourced from trees aged 200 to over 1000 years. This example showcases that heritage through its deep amber tones, natural fissures, and textured bark edges—each a hallmark of genuine aged pine.
