Handwoven South Persian Kilim rug, crafted in Iran circa 1975, composed of 100% wool with an estimated 240 KPI. This flatwoven textile features bold geometric diamond medallions within multiple stepped borders in tones of rust, ivory, indigo, and ochre. The composition reflects classic Qashqai or Luri tribal aesthetics, emphasizing rhythmic symmetry and strong natural dye contrasts. Both decorative and collectible, this vintage Kilim showcases traditional craftsmanship with enduring visual appeal.
A substantial piece measuring approximately 5’6” x 10’9”, it makes an impressive floor covering or wall hanging, adding warmth and authentic character to any setting.
Condition:
Fair condition overall. Displays general wear consistent with age, including fraying to selvedges and fringe, several older repairs, and two holes measuring approximately 2.5" and 1.5" near the center.
