Bausch & Lomb Legacy 7x35 EWA Binoculars – Kamakura (JB-133) Japan, Original Case & Strap
A fine and fully functional pair of Bausch & Lomb Legacy 7x35 Extra Wide Angle (EWA) binoculars, manufactured in Japan by Kamakura Koki Co., Ltd. (JB-133) for Bausch & Lomb in the late 1980s to early 1990s. This discontinued model combines Bausch & Lomb’s long optical tradition with precision Japanese craftsmanship. Featuring multi-coated BAK-4 prisms and 7x magnification with 35mm objectives, it delivers a bright, wide 11° field of view ideal for sports, birding, or scenic use.
Constructed in matte black rubberized armor with gold trim, these binoculars are marked Legacy 7x35 EWA Field 11° and Bausch & Lomb on the barrels. The right prism plate bears the JB-133 code, confirming Kamakura’s manufacture. Smooth focusing and diopter controls enhance usability, while the optics remain clear and bright.
Complete with the original black leatherette case, Bausch & Lomb shoulder strap, and metal clasp. A collectible and well-balanced mid-century Japanese optical design—both elegant and practical.
Condition:
Very good overall condition with minor cosmetic wear consistent with careful use. Lenses are clear, free of haze or separation, and coatings retain strong reflection. Mechanically sound with smooth focus and firm hinge. Case shows light scuffing but is fully intact with working clasp.
Dimensions:
Binoculars: approx. 7 x 5 x 2.5 inches
Case: approx. 7.5 x 5.5 x 3 inches
Includes original Bausch & Lomb strap as shown.
A desirable Japanese-made Legacy 7x35 EWA from Bausch & Lomb, built by the acclaimed Kamakura factory (JB-133). Known for their clarity, comfort, and durable construction, these are now discontinued and sought by collectors of quality vintage optics.
