36" Hand-Engraved Copper Wall Charger — Signed Ahmet Aktaş, Gaziantep
An exceptional hand-hammered copper wall charger by Turkish artisan Ahmet Aktaş of Gaziantep, a city renowned for its centuries-old coppersmithing tradition. Measuring an impressive 35 ¾ inches in diameter, this piece displays meticulous Ottoman-inspired engraving—a central rosette radiating through scrolling arabesques and geometric motifs, each stroke individually chased into the warm copper surface. The signature “AHMET AKTAŞ • G. ANTEP” is clearly stamped, affirming its origin within the celebrated workshops of the city’s Bakircılar Çarşısı (Coppersmiths’ Bazaar).
Forged from solid copper and finished with a rich natural patina, the tray embodies the soul of Anatolian craftsmanship—at once decorative and architectural. Its grand scale and original wall-mount loop make it an outstanding display piece for a collector’s wall, luxury interior, or cultural setting.
