Description

No. 8 Cast Iron Skillet — 10½ Inch, Double Pour Spouts, “N” Handle Mark

Offered is a vintage No. 8 cast iron skillet, marked “10½ Inch Skillet” on the underside, with a raised “8” at the handle base and a smaller “N” on the handle stem. This pan features dual pour spouts, a smooth interior surface, and a classic teardrop-shaped handle with a hanging slot. Measuring 10½ inches in diameter, it reflects mid-20th-century American foundry craftsmanship, likely from the 1940s to 1960s.

While unmarked by brand, the style aligns closely with skillets produced during this period by established makers such as Wagner, Lodge, or Birmingham Stove & Range, who often manufactured unbranded pieces for general retail. Collectors value these pans for their balanced weight, fine casting, and even heating qualities—all characteristics evident in this example.

A functional and collectible piece, perfect for daily cooking or as part of a vintage cast iron display.

Condition:

In good vintage condition, showing signs of honest use and age-appropriate surface wear. The skillet sits with a very slight wobble and exhibits light utensil marks and seasoning variations consistent with decades of service. No cracks or major pitting noted. Ready for continued use after light re-seasoning.

Dimensions:

  • Height: 2 in
  • Width (including handle): 15.25 in
  • Diameter: 10.5 in
