Neil Duman Studio Art Glass Sculpture, 1988 — Limited Edition 30/40
Elegant hand-blown clear glass sculpture by Neil Duman (American, b. 1955), signed and dated ’88, numbered 30/40. Crafted in Duman’s Virginia studio, this substantial piece exemplifies his exploration of abstract form and optical texture. The organic, softly squared shape incorporates dense internal air bubbles—an advanced bullicante technique—creating striking light refractions and dimensional depth.
Neil Duman studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Virginia Commonwealth University (BFA, 1977), and is known for innovative sculptural glass emphasizing form, transparency, and internal movement. His work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the U.S., including Crossroads Art Center and The Linda Matney Gallery.
A superb late-20th-century studio glass sculpture from an American artisan recognized for his inventive craftsmanship. Signed and numbered on the base: Neil Duman ’88, 30/40.
