Battlefield Antiques Cast Iron Hunter & Tree Mechanical Bank
This cast iron mechanical bank is a mid-20th-century reproduction created for the collector market, marked “Battlefield Antiques, Inc., Made in Taiwan R.O.C.” The design is modeled after 19th-century American mechanical banks and features a hunter aiming toward a hollow tree stump with the coin slot set into the carved opening. Boldly finished in hand-painted green, brown, black, and peach tones, the piece displays the charming folk-art character associated with these Taiwan-made collector banks produced from the 1960s through the 1980s.
Substantial in weight and visually playful, it makes an appealing addition to a collection of reproduction cast-iron banks or vintage décor. Its lively subject matter and bright paint lend it strong display presence.
CONDITION
Good, with expected shelf wear including paint rubbing, small chips, scattered surface marks, and visible casting seams typical of reproduction banks. Light finish loss appears on the tree top and edges. Mechanism is present; operation may vary with age. Please review photos for full details
