Frigid Fruits Frozen Fruit Tin & Large Stenciled Bread Tin, Steel c.1950s–60s
This pair of mid-century steel storage tins includes a colorful Frigid Fruits frozen-fruit container and a large stenciled “BREAD” tin, both typical of American commercial packaging from the 1940s–60s. The Frigid Fruits can was produced for Frigid Food Products, Inc., Detroit, a regional frozen-food packer active through the mid-20th century. Its printed “ice band” graphics and vibrant fruit imagery follow known examples held in Detroit historical archives. The bread tin, with industrial stenciling and steel wire closure, appears consistent with products made by major U.S. manufacturers such as the American Can Company, whose marks and construction methods align with similar period containers.
Together, these pieces offer appealing vintage character for kitchen display, advertising collections, or industrial décor.
Condition
Good overall condition with scratches, dents, and surface wear from age and handling. The fruit tin shows oxidation and finish loss, while the bread tin exhibits scattered rusting and abrasion. Both tins are empty and structurally sound. Please review photos for condition details.
