Frog fetishes are most strongly associated with Zuni lapidary tradition, where they symbolize water, rain, fertility, and renewal. Figurative squash blossom necklaces incorporating animal fetishes are a documented Southwestern practice, including notable Zuni examples from the early to mid-20th century.
