Mid-Century Bassett Walnut Dresser with Mirror and Brass Hardware
This mid-century modern dresser is a solid example of Bassett Furniture’s American-made casework from the period and is part of the same series as other Bassett pieces offered in this sale. The design is straightforward and well-proportioned, with warm walnut tones and understated brass accents typical of the era.
The dresser is constructed from a combination of solids and veneers and features seven dovetail-constructed drawers fitted with brass bail handles. It rests on tapered legs measuring approximately 2 inches in height, each finished with a brass band. The accompanying mirror retains its original wood frame and brass corner accents and mounts securely to the dresser.
Condition
Good, with visible finish wear, chips, and surface marks consistent with age and use. Areas of finish loss and edge wear are present throughout. The bottom right drawer is missing its handle; the handle is included, but the mounting hardware is absent. Additional signs of honest use are visible in the photos. Structurally sound and sturdy, with drawers operating properly.
