Victorian Wicker High-Back Rocking Chair, c.1900–1920
Cream-painted American wicker rocker with a tall arched back, looped crest rods, diamond-lattice center, and vertical reed spindles below. Wrapped uprights with bulb finials, scrolled arm supports, and a decorative figure-eight front stretcher show classic turn-of-the-century workmanship. Natural woven cane seat contrasts the painted frame. Unmarked; attributable in style to Heywood Brothers & Wakefield–era production. A charming cottage or sunroom accent with authentic period character.
Condition: Good antique appearance with use-related wear. Finish wear and paint loss throughout; scattered cracked/broken reed strands at back and some wrappings; cane seat shows age-appropriate wear and discoloration with localized loss; scuffs and edge wear to arms and runners. Sturdy overall; best for light/occasional use or restoration as desired.
Dimensions (inches):
Overall 41 H x 24 W x 30 D;
Seat 16 H x 18 W x 15 D.
