National Furniture No.150 Ivory Vanity – Restoration Candidate
This No. 150 Ivory Enamel Vanity by the National Furniture Company of Mount Airy, North Carolina is offered as a restoration candidate, retaining its original factory paper label to the rear. Dating to the early–mid 20th century, the piece reflects solid American construction and classic proportions from a prominent North Carolina furniture maker.
The vanity features an adjustable tri-fold mirror, removable interior shelving, dovetail drawers, and original glass knobs. A flip-top center storage compartment adds functional interest, and the set includes the original matching metal chair. The original ivory enamel finish has experienced significant wear, exposing wood beneath and presenting an ideal opportunity for refinishing or historically sensitive restoration. A strong foundation for a thoughtful revival.
Condition
In good condition overall. Structurally sturdy with drawers, doors, shelving, and adjustable mirrors functioning properly. There is visible wear to the reflective surfaces, including a 1 1/2" chip to the right mirror. Finish wear, scuffs, and scratches are present throughout, consistent with age and use.
