Coleman “Holds the Cold” Penguin Cooler with Jug, C. Mid-1950s Set
Nothing says road-trip nostalgia like Coleman green. This painted-steel picnic cooler wears its original “COOLER—Holds the Cold” penguin decal and plaid-trim lid, with a Coleman-marked latch, fold-flat side handles, and red drain. It’s paired with a matching green/white 1-gal water jug stamped “Made in USA…Wichita, Kans., Pat. Pend.” Together they capture the look of campgrounds, tailgates, and family summers gone by—perfect for display, prop styling, or a retro garage vignette.
Condition
Fair. Age-appropriate wear throughout with scratches, losses, dings and dents visible on multiple sides; markings present inside. Hardware shows oxidation. Jug exhibits discoloration/toning and surface wear. Offered as a non-functioning display set (not tested for cold retention or watertightness). See photos.
