Hollywood Regency Gilt Iron Vortex Stool, Manner of Maison Jansen
Elegant mid-century gilt iron stool in the Hollywood Regency style, attributed to the manner of Maison Jansen. The sculptural frame features a vortex or double-cone form with gracefully curved rods terminating in small spherical finials. The seat is upholstered in golden velvet, complementing the warm patina of the metal base. This refined design reflects the glamour and symmetry characteristic of Jansen’s mid-20th-century creations, suitable as a vanity seat, accent stool, or decorative pedestal.
A fine example of French-inspired Hollywood Regency design, combining modernist geometry with classical detailing.
Condition:
Good vintage condition overall. The velvet seat shows light discoloration, a few faint marks, and a small worn spot. The gilt finish on the iron base displays scattered surface wear and oxidation consistent with age. Structurally sound and visually striking.
