Lupita Original Najaco & Navarro Folk Art Figurine Pair Birds in Cage
This exceptional pair of Lupita Original Mexican folk art figurines depicts traditionally dressed women, each carrying a decorative birdcage with hand-painted birds. One figure is signed NAVARRO and the other marked NAJACO, both associated with the Tonalá, Jalisco tradition of “Lupita” ceramic figures. Original manufacturer tags confirm handmade production, ceramic clay construction, acrylic paint, and no lead content.
Each figure is richly hand painted with expressive facial features, floral hair ornaments, and detailed apron scenes featuring birds and countryside imagery. The birdcage motif is a highly sought-after design within this category, and the matching size and theme make this a strong display pair. An excellent example of late 20th-century Tonalá artesanía, ideal for collectors of Mexican folk art or decorative sculpture. Soup can shown in photos for scale reference.
Condition
Excellent condition with no damage. Both figures are clean and vibrant, with no cracks, chips, repairs, or paint loss observed. Structurally solid and display-ready.
