Description

Amado Maurilio Peña Jr. “Santa Clara” Serigraph — Printer’s Proof (P/P), Signed & Titled

Striking serigraph titled Santa Clara by Southwestern artist Amado Maurilio Peña Jr. (American, b. 1943). This rare Printer’s Proof (P/P) example was created outside the numbered edition of 65 and bears Peña’s embossed studio chop at lower left. The composition portrays two robed Pueblo women in mirrored profile, flanking a traditional clay vessel. Peña’s signature use of layered turquoise, ochre, and sienna tones combined with precise linear patterning reflects his deep connection to Indigenous and Chicano heritage.

Pencil signed Amado Peña Jr. at lower right, titled Santa Clara at lower left, and inscribed P/P to denote its proof status. Peña Editions embossed animal mark below the title. A richly colored and culturally resonant image, beautifully presented in a double mat and oak frame under glass.
