Rembrandt 1960s Cast Brass Neoclassical Candelabra Lamp — 3-Way, 5 Lights
Striking mid-century Rembrandt table lamp, circa 1960s, crafted in cast brass with rich Neoclassical styling. The design features a square plinth base with laurel and swag motifs, supporting an urn-form column and a five-light candelabra cluster with scrolled candle arms. The center socket accommodates a standard bulb, while the four outer arms use chandelier bulbs. A three-way switch allows the center bulb to illuminate on its own or together with the four outer bulbs.
Rembrandt Lamp Company was renowned for producing sophisticated, high-quality lighting throughout the mid-20th century, blending classical inspiration with modern craftsmanship. This example, finished in gilt and matte black with a black silk shade (replacement), exemplifies the brand’s enduring appeal and craftsmanship. Topped with a gilt arrow-and-torch finial.
Dimensions: 42.75 in. height; weight approx. 10 lbs.
Condition:
Good overall condition with oxidation, surface wear, and patina consistent with age. A superficial crack is present on the center column (visible in photos) but remains stable. Wiring appears intact but untested for safety. Shade is not original.
Provenance / Notes:
From a private collection, accompanied by a client note identifying the lamp as a 1960s Rembrandt piece. Rembrandt lamps of this quality and design are highly collectible, often sought after for their stately presence and craftsmanship.
