Pair of Briddon Brothers Sheffield Electroplated Footed Salt Cellars
A delightful pair of Victorian electroplated salt cellars by Briddon Brothers, Sheffield, circa 1870–1890. Each piece displays ornate repoussé floral and foliate decoration, supported on three scallop shell–form feet, with a finely fluted rim adding to the period charm. The undersides are stamped with the Briddon Brothers mark and “EP” with a crown, denoting high-quality Sheffield electroplate.
This elegant matched pair exemplifies the craftsmanship and decorative richness typical of late 19th-century Sheffield silverplate, making them ideal for collectors of English table silver or as refined antique accents in dining display.

The Briddon Brothers were active in Sheffield from the 1860s through the early 20th century, producing both sterling and electroplated silverware. Their decorative pieces, often featuring floral repoussé and classical motifs, were well-regarded for their craftsmanship and form, standing alongside contemporaries such as Walker & Hall and James Dixon & Sons in quality and design.
