Chinese Cloisonné Enamel Bowl w/ Peony & Bird Motif, on Carved Stand
Vibrant Chinese cloisonné enamel bowl, likely early to mid-20th century, decorated with large peony blossoms, flowering plum branches, and a flying bird against a deep cobalt-blue ground with gilt wire scrollwork. The interior and exterior feature meticulous hand-applied enameling with multi-color floral detailing bordered by a brass rim. The bowl rests on a finely carved hardwood stand with pierced scrollwork and cabriole-style legs, enhancing its display appeal.
An elegant example of traditional cloisonné artistry, prized for its intricate metalwork and rich color palette. Ideal as a collector’s piece or refined decorative accent.
Condition
In very good condition overall with light surface wear and minor enamel speckling consistent with age. The brass rim shows slight oxidation, and the wooden stand displays a few small scuffs from use. No significant chips, cracks, or losses visible.
