Peter, Paul & Mary – Early Warner Bros. Folk Revival LP Trio, 1962–1963
Complete trio of early Warner Bros. Vitaphonic High Fidelity stereo albums by Peter, Paul and Mary, including their self-titled debut (WS 1449, 1962), Moving (WS 1473, 1963), and In the Wind (WS 1507, 1963). These original gold-label stereo issues capture the rise of America’s most influential folk trio during the peak of the 1960s folk revival. Each LP bears early Vitaphonic stereo markings; In the Wind is a desirable German-manufactured pressing with gold Warner Bros. shield label and GEMA rights notation.
The albums feature the group’s defining recordings — “If I Had a Hammer,” “500 Miles,” “Puff (The Magic Dragon),” and “Blowin’ in the Wind” — along with their acclaimed renditions of contemporary and traditional songs. Produced by Albert Grossman and arranged by Milton Okun, these releases mark the band’s transition from club performers to international voices of the folk movement. Early gold-label Warner pressings such as these are increasingly sought after by collectors for both their warm analog sound and historical significance.
Condition:
Covers exhibit light to moderate edge and corner wear with faint surface toning from age but retain full integrity and readable spines. Vinyl surfaces show scattered light scuffs and sleeve marks; labels clean with minor handling wear. In the Wind copy retains bright label color and legible German “Manufactured in Germany” imprint. Overall visual grade Good to Very Good (G+/VG) across the set; playback testing recommended for detailed grading.
Dimensions:
Each: Standard 12-inch LP.
Lot of three albums.
