Mid-Century Dujardin Flat-Top Steamer Trunk — Brass Trim, 1930s–50s
Evoking the elegance of mid-century travel, this Dujardin flat-top steamer trunk combines sturdy craftsmanship with timeless charm. The dark green canvas exterior is accented by nailhead trim, brass corner guards, and three front latches, including a central lock clasp (key absent). Leather side handles, one embossed “Dujardin,” remain firmly attached, their wear telling the story of journeys past.
Inside, the trunk opens to reveal its original blue-and-white patterned paper lining—an unmistakable hallmark of European trunks from the 1930s–1950s. A Frontier Airlines baggage tag still clings to one side, offering a tangible link to its well-traveled history. Handsome in form and rich in character, this piece serves beautifully as a statement coffee table, storage chest, or nostalgic décor accent.
Condition
Fair overall. Scuffing, finish wear, and interior liner tears present; brass hardware with oxidation. Structurally sound. Key not included.
