Regula 34 Black Forest Hunter Cuckoo Clock — Carved Wood, Musical, 38"
Impressive Black Forest hunter’s cuckoo clock featuring a Regula 34 movement by Albert Schwab, Karlsruhe, Germany. This post-war eight-day mechanical model is noted for its precision German craftsmanship and reliable chain-driven operation. The hand-carved wooden case depicts classic hunting motifs including a stag head with crossed rifles, oak leaves, rabbit, bird, and hunting horn surrounding the dial. Above, a rotating balcony of dancing couples activates with the musical sequence, powered by the third train of the Regula 34 movement.
Constructed entirely of wood except for the plastic antlers, and accompanied by cast iron pinecone weights. The movement is stamped “REGULA 34 / Made in Germany / Pendellänge 23.5 cm.” Chains are present and installed (not shown in photos). A substantial and visually striking example of traditional Black Forest craftsmanship.
CONDITION
In good cosmetic condition with light surface wear consistent with age. Untested and currently non-functional, missing the pendulum. Bellows are intact. Chains are installed. Displays beautifully and would make an excellent restoration project or decorative statement piece.
