Pine Console Table — Taraceado Top, Wrought Iron Drawer Pull
A Mexican import pine console or writing table distinguished by a tabletop decorated in the taraceado tradition — small slivers of tinted wood arranged in a mosaic pattern to form a repeating diamond lattice in green, red, and natural tones, centered on a radiating sunburst medallion. The finished back makes it equally suited for sofa or wall placement. Four-inch square legs are turned in a baluster profile, joined by a low H-stretcher, and terminate in ball feet.
The apron incorporates a single shallow drawer fitted with a forged wrought iron ring pull.
CONDITION Good. Sturdy and structurally sound; the rustic character is by design. Minor surface nicks and small checked splits to the leg blocks are consistent with the piece's folk origins and age.
