Handcrafted Mexican Pine 5-Drawer Chest — Distressed Black, Custom Snake Pulls
A solid kiln-dried pine chest handcrafted in Mexico in the Southwestern tradition, finished in a heavily distressed black paint with a contrasting natural unlacquered pine top three-quarters of an inch thick. The two-tone treatment is a deliberate design choice consistent with this artisan genre. The case presents two narrow drawers across the top row and three full-width drawers below, each fitted with a pair of custom cast aluminum snake-form pulls. Vertical plank back construction, a stepped base molding, and bun feet complete the form. Unmarked; natural wood knots and grain variation throughout are characteristic of the medium.
CONDITION
Good. The piece presents well overall; the distressed black finish is intentional and consistent. Light wear throughout and a visible stain on the natural pine top surface.
