Huge Moroccan Reticulated Brass Teardrop Table Lamp 42"H — Naqsh & Serrouj Work
A large-scale Moroccan table lamp in reticulated brass, standing an imposing 42 inches tall in the classic teardrop silhouette with a tall conical spire and turned ball finial. At this scale — bridging table lamp and floor lamp — the piece commands a room rather than merely occupying a surface. The body is worked overall in the traditional serrouj technique: hand-pierced cutwork in an all-over geometric arabesque pattern with no two openings identical in size or spacing. Engraved naqsh circular medallions punctuate the shoulder and belly, and the surface carries an even warm antique patina throughout. The lamp seats on a stepped, domed circular base with punched border detailing.
The lamp is electrified with an inline switch and has been tested fully functional; when lit, the pierced body throws intricate shadow patterns across surrounding walls and ceiling.
CONDITION Excellent. The pierced brasswork is intact throughout with no missing or damaged sections, and the patina is even and consistent across the body. No remarkable damage noted.
