Vintage Colonial Hacienda Pine Armario — Sunburst Carving, Forged Iron, 3-Drawer

A Mexican Colonial Hacienda-style pine armario in the tradition established by post-independence provincial craftsmen. The two-part cabinet features a shaped arched bonnet with a hand-carved sunburst radiating from the crown — a motif repeated on the scalloped lower apron — and throughout-distressed surfaces characteristic of this furniture tradition. The upper cabinet is fitted with double raised-panel doors hung on forged iron strap hinges with paired forged iron scroll pulls and secured by a ball-catch closure; the interior holds a single fixed shelf. Three full-width raised-panel drawers with matching forged iron scroll pulls occupy the lower base.

A "Hecho en México" paper label bearing an eagle motif is affixed to the back.

The back panel construction uses rough-sawn planks consistent with reclaimed or old-growth timber — a hallmark of higher-quality pieces in this style.

CONDITION

Good. Structure is solid and all forged iron hardware is intact and functional. The wormhole pitting and surface checking throughout are applied distressing techniques intentional to this furniture tradition, not defect. Two areas of localized finish loss appear on the left door panel face, and the drawer fronts show moderate finish crazing consistent with age.
