Santa Fe Country Pine Trastero & Mirror Set — Crusita Cutouts, Forged Iron
A matched two-piece set in solid pine in the Santa Fe Country tradition, rooted in Spanish Colonial and New Mexican hacienda craft. The trastero — a traditional Southwest storage cabinet — is built solid wood throughout with no veneers or composite materials. Two paneled doors feature vertical plank construction with carved crusita cutouts in repeating bowtie and cross columns, a ventilation detail characteristic of the form, fitted with forged iron handles and surface-mount hardware. The interior is finished with a tongue and groove plank back and houses one fully removable shelf supported on turned corbels — Old World construction carried through to every surface. The mirror carries a deeply layered stepped frame with recessed block molding and projecting corner elements drawn from Spanish Colonial architectural detailing, designed for vertical wall mounting.
Lot comprises the trastero and mirror as shown.
CONDITION
Good. Both pieces carry intentional distressing consistent with the Santa Fe Country aesthetic — surface checking, open grain, and tonal variation throughout. Visible scuffing to the trastero legs; no structural damage or losses to either piece.
