Bentwood Hall Tree Coat Stand — Solid Wood, 6 Hooks, All Original Unrestored
A floor-standing bentwood hall tree in the Thonet tradition, constructed of solid steam-bent wood in an original, unrestored state. Six outward-sweeping scrolled hooks with balled tips radiate from a central turned finial at the crown, while a mid-shaft circular umbrella and cane ring trimmed with matching scroll accents provides a second functional tier. The four-leg base flows into outward-curved feet with button terminals, consistent with Central European bentwood production of the late 19th to early 20th century.
CONDITION Good. All original and unrestored, retaining its aged patina and period character throughout. Finish wear and loss present, with old repairs at the upper post near the hook crown; the lower umbrella ring sits askew. Imperfect but fully functional.
