Pair of Flintlock Pistol Replicas — 1670 Dated Barrel, Wood Stock, Brass & Copper
A matched display lot of two flintlock pistol replicas in contrasting hardware finishes, both featuring wooden stocks with cast metal furniture. The first pistol presents with a steel-finish barrel marked "1670" along the flat, two brass barrel bands retaining a wooden ramrod beneath, pierced gilt brass floral scroll inlay across the grip and butt cap, a steel side plate, brass trigger guard with spur, and a ring-loop atop the cock housing — a form associated with early European cavalry pistols. The second pistol features the same wooden stock profile with copper-finish cast hardware throughout, including a scrolled lock plate with pronounced verdigris patina, a decorated butt cap, and a steel ramrod with turned ferrule seated beneath the barrel.
CONDITION
Very Good. Both pistols retain strong finish overall with light scuffs only noticeable under close inspection. The verdigris patina on the copper-finish pistol is pronounced at the lock plate and cock; gilt inlay on the brass-finish pistol shows minor wear on high-relief areas.
