Henry Link Chardonnay Knotty Pine Desk & Hutch — French Country, Lighted, 1980s
From Henry Link's "Chardonnay" collection, this two-piece hutched desk captures the relaxed warmth the line was known for — knotty pine throughout, honey finish, and the collection's trademark cream gilt pinstriping running along the drawer fronts and stiles. The hutch rises to an arched bonnet crown with a carved floral cartouche at center, two open display shelves backed by planked pine, and built-in accent lighting tucked behind the upper shelf. The desk pedestal below carries four dovetail drawers with serpentine fronts and cast brass bail pulls, a carved floral apron, and slender cabriole legs finishing on scroll feet. Both sections separate for transport.
Produced by Henry Link's division of Dixie Furniture Company in Lexington, North Carolina in the 1980s, the Chardonnay line sits squarely in the French Country tradition — sturdy American-made construction dressed with just enough ornament to feel intentional without being fussy. Sold as a set: desk and hutch. No bulb included.
CONDITION
Good. The finish is warm and cohesive across both pieces, with hardware and carved details presenting cleanly. Dings are visible along the edges of the desk base.
