Cast Iron Victorian Garden Set — Dragon Pedestal, Marble Top, 2 Chairs
This is a three-piece antique cast iron patio set — one table and two matching chairs — made in the Victorian era, roughly the 1860s–1890s. The table base is cast with three dragon figures holding up a marble top, with a decorative column and ornate base. The chairs have tall, lacy iron backs with a raised oval portrait of a classical woman in the center, surrounded by scrollwork and cutwork detail. Round pierced seats sit on four curved legs with scroll feet. These are genuinely heavy pieces — 55 lbs per chair, 74 lbs for the table — which is how you know they're the real deal, not the lightweight reproductions sold at garden centers. The white paint has some rust spots, but this is an easy DIY fix: a wire brush, a can of Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer from any hardware store, and two coats of spray paint and this set looks brand new.
Lot includes the marble-top table and two matching chairs — three pieces total.
CONDITION
Good. All three pieces are solid, stable, and nothing is broken or missing. The white paint has some chips and rust spots at the base of the table and along the edges of the chair seats — normal for cast iron of this age and easy to repaint.
