Description

Pair Krause's Venice Champa Nubuck Leather Club Chairs — Pillow Arms, 1999

A matched pair of oversized lounge chairs custom crafted by Krause's, upholstered in full grain nubuck leather in their "Venice Champa" tan colorway. Nubuck is top grain leather buffed to a soft, suede-like finish — a premium material that responds well to professional cleaning and color restoration. Each chair features a floating rolled back cushion, pillow-top arm bolsters, a single box seat cushion with zipper closure for easy removal, and raised block feet in a dark finish.

Lot includes both chairs as shown, with all original cushions.

CONDITION

Fair. Both chairs are fully functional and comfortable with no structural issues; cushions retain their loft and seating support is intact. The nubuck leather shows significant surface soiling, fading, and discoloration throughout — most pronounced on the exterior back panels and arm bolsters — with amber body-oil staining on one chair's arm and scattered spotting across both seat cushions. Restoration is achievable: a nubuck eraser and degreasing cleaner (Colourlock or Leather Master) will address soiling, a brass nubuck brush will revive the matted nap, and nubuck-specific color spray in a tan/chamois shade will restore the original colorway — finish with a nubuck protector spray, not a standard leather conditioner, which would flatten the nap permanently. DIY restoration runs approximately $80–150 in materials; professional leather restoration for the pair typically runs $300–600.
