Gorham Cromwell Sterling Silver Pierced Nut / Mint Dishes A4780 — Set of 10
Ten matching sterling silver nut or mint dishes by Gorham in the Cromwell pattern, each marked with the Gorham lion-anchor-G hallmark, Sterling, and pattern number A4780. The Cromwell pattern dates to circa 1900 and remained in production for several decades, making it one of Gorham's more enduring holloware designs. Each oval dish features a reticulated body with a repeating scroll-and-quatrefoil pierced band encircling the lower wall, a shaped rim decorated with scroll and anthemion detailing, and raised shell repoussé ornaments at the four corner points.
The lot sells as a matched set of ten pieces.
CONDITION Good. Pieces are structurally sound with no dents, deformation, or missing detail. Tarnish is present on all pieces to varying degrees, with light spotting and oxidation in the interior wells of several dishes; polishing will be required to restore luster. Surface scratching consistent with stacking is visible on the underside bases.
