Green Marble-Top Empire Guéridon Tables — Graduated Set of 2, Brass
A graduated set of two Empire-style guéridon side tables, each carrying a polished round green marble top (1/2" and 3/4" thick) above a solid and composite wood apron with a gilt-brass apron medallion at each leg juncture. Three reeded column legs descend to a tripartite concave platform base, with gilt-brass ferrule collars at the transitions. The two tables share the same architectural vocabulary — spare, column-driven form drawn from French Empire prototypes — but differ in scale and in medallion detail: the larger table carries a rosette-style boss, the smaller an oval cartouche. Both tables are sturdy with no wobble or play.
The graduated scale makes this set particularly versatile for layered vignette styling, bedside placement, or staggered display in an entryway or living room.
CONDITION
Good. Both tables are structurally sound and stable, with hardware retaining strong gilt color. Noticeable wear to the wood finish on the bases and aprons consistent with use, including light scuffs and minor surface variation. Marble tops are intact on both pieces with no chips or cracks visible.
