Nambe 210 Tray & 223 Porringer Bowl MCM Set
Vintage Nambe serving set including the Model 210 rectangular platter tray and Model 223 porringer bowl, both crafted in Nambe’s signature hand-cast alloy. Produced in Santa Fe, New Mexico and dating to the 1960s–1970s, these pieces exemplify mid-century modern design with clean, sculptural lines and distinctive pierced handles on the tray. Each piece is clearly marked on the underside.
The #210 tray is a classic Nambe form, designed as a versatile serving platter with elegant proportions and subtle curves. The #223 porringer bowl—named after traditional handled bowls—features a rounded, organic shape with an integrated handle, ideal for sauces, sides, or individual servings.
Nambe’s proprietary alloy is known for its durability and thermal properties, allowing it to retain heat or cold. Collected as functional art, these early models represent the brand’s original American craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic.
Condition:
In good vintage condition with visible surface scratches, shelf wear, and signs of use throughout. The finish remains bright with a natural patina; polishing could enhance shine if desired. No major dents or structural issues observed.
Dimensions:
Tray (Model 210, with handles): 1 1/2 x 15 x 7 1/2 inches
Bowl (Model 223, with handle): 1 1/4 x 8 x 6 inches
(Soup can shown in photos for scale)
Founded in 1953 in New Mexico, Nambé is known for its innovative alloy and sculptural approach to serveware. Pieces are sand-cast and hand-finished, giving each example subtle uniqueness. The metal is prized for its durability, heat retention, and ability to be restored to a high polish, contributing to the lasting appeal and collectibility of vintage Nambé designs.
