Ethan Allen Ebonized Dining Set — Table, Leaf & 8 Hand-Crafted Chairs

This Ethan Allen dining suite represents the brand's transitional period of the late 2000s — high-contrast ebonized hardwood against cream faux leather upholstery, all made in the USA and bearing the maker's brand stamp. The rectangular extension table sits on a trestle base and presents a lacquered espresso finish across a clean, unornamented top. Eight matching chairs — six armless side chairs and two captains chairs — carry the same ebonized frame with a transitional shield-back design: an arched crest rail with a serpentine apron, full upholstered seat and back in cream faux leather. Each chair bears a hand-signed Ethan Allen quality inspection label with individual craftspeople named for cutting, sewing, and final inspection, dating production to ©2009. Comparable Ethan Allen dining sets retailed for $10,000–$12,000 new — this lot offers that quality at a fraction of the original investment.

The lot includes the dining table, one extension leaf (23¾" wide), six side chairs, and two captains chairs. With the leaf installed, the table seats 10 comfortably.

CONDITION

Good. The table surface shows light wear consistent with use; note that the table may require minor adjustment to close completely with the leaf removed. Finish wear on the backs of several chair frames has been touched up, and the faux leather upholstery shows wear from regular use. One chair exhibits finish chipping along the top rail crest and at one seat welt seam. Reupholstering all eight chairs in fresh faux leather or fabric typically runs $600–$1,200 through a local upholsterer — a straightforward upgrade that returns this set to showroom condition.
