Vintage Steel Spring Porch Chairs, Set of 3 — Mid-Century Bouncer Armchairs
Three mid-century American steel "bouncer" porch armchairs, offered as a lot. Two matching flat-back chairs feature punched square ventilation clusters, grid-perforated seat pans, and cream-painted tubular cantilever bases — consistent with production from Troy Sunshade, Bunting Glider Co., and similar manufacturers active from the late 1940s through the early 1960s. The third is a shell-back rocker: fan-shaped back with vertical relief ribs, solid formed seat, yellow cantilever base, finished in period turquoise over earlier paint layers. All three carry the characteristic spring-flex ride that made this form a fixture of American front porches for two decades.
Sold as a set of three chairs.
CONDITION
Fair/Poor — For Restoration. All three chairs show heavy surface corrosion and significant paint loss throughout — condition clearly documented in photos. One of the two cream flat-back chairs has more aggressive rust penetration on the back panel and may require structural repair in addition to refinishing. Frames are intact and the spring-flex bases function; these are restoration projects, not ready to use as found.
