Cold-Cast Bronze Rearing Horse Sculpture — Wildwood Accents #293631
This is the rearing pose — both forelegs off the ground, neck fully extended, mouth open and head turned. It's the most demanding composition in equestrian sculpture: every ounce of the animal's power directed straight up, balanced on two points of contact. The anatomy holds. Chest tension, shoulder engagement, the fine articulation of the lower legs — the sculptor didn't flinch. Cold-cast bronze in deep mahogany-chestnut, darkening toward black in the mane, ears, and heavily textured base terrain. Verde patina threads through the tail and ground work. On a black lacquered oval plinth, standing over 20 inches tall, this piece has genuine room presence — it reads from across the space.
The rearing horse is one of the oldest power symbols in Western art. It belongs on a mantel, a library console, a study credenza. Wildwood Accents #293631 marked on the underside.
CONDITION
Very Good. Finish is intact and vibrant with no chips, cracks, or repairs observed. Minor surface variation in the chestnut body finish is consistent with the cold-cast process, not damage.
