Description

Antique Singer Sewing Cabinet c.1870 Walnut Flip Top Bar Cabinet

Antique Singer sewing machine cabinet dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1870s. Crafted from walnut with a rich, dark finish, this piece features a classic lift-top design concealing the original sewing well, along with two shallow upper drawers and a fitted surface with dual spool cutouts. The lower cabinet opens to ample storage and includes an interior dovetailed drawer, highlighting solid period craftsmanship.

Originally intended as a parlor sewing cabinet for early Singer machines, this example reflects the era’s blend of function and furniture design. With the machine absent, it lends itself beautifully to modern use as a bar cabinet, liquor station, or unique storage piece, with the flip-top compartment ideal for bottles or glassware.

A versatile and decorative antique that complements both traditional and eclectic interiors.

Condition:
In good antique condition with visible wear consistent with age and use. There is scuffing, finish wear, and notable residue and wear to the interior base from prior use. The top does not close fully flush, and the key is absent. Minor surface imperfections and small holes are present. Structurally sturdy and sound overall.

Dimensions:
36.25 x 25.75 x 19 inches
