Description

Italica Ars Firenze Majolica 3-Pc Set — Ewer, Pitcher, Tray Pezzo Unico

At nineteen inches, the ewer alone stops a room — a hand-thrown Florentine studio work of a scale that production pottery simply doesn't reach. Italica Ars, founded in Lastra a Signa in the metropolitan city of Florence, built a century-long reputation on exactly this kind of piece: majolica with genuine artistic ambition, hand-painted by individual artists rather than assembly-line decorators.

This three-piece set — large ewer, footed pitcher, and oval serving tray — is among the most compelling configurations Italica Ars produced. Each piece carries the full Italica Ars / Firenze / Italy backstamp and is individually designated "Pezzo Unico": Italian for one of a kind, confirmed in the mark, not claimed in the marketing. Each is signed in the artist's hand on the body. The unified autumn harvest motif covers every surface — hand-painted clusters of green and deep purple grapes, russet and gold vine leaves, fine tendril scrollwork against a warm cream ground — and the sculptural vine handles, hand-formed with knot and branch detail, are the work of a maker who understood that a handle is not hardware, it's craft.

CONDITION

Excellent. All three pieces present with vivid, fully intact color, no chips, no cracks, and no repairs observed across the group.
