14K Gold Natural Colombian Emerald & Diamond Ballerina Ring, Sz 7
Few rings command a room the way a well-built ballerina cocktail ring does — and this one delivers. The natural Colombian emerald at its center stops you cold: a rich, saturated green set against warm 14k yellow gold, framed by sixty-three diamonds that fan outward across the face and wrap the shoulders in continuous sparkle. At just over an inch wide, this ring owns the hand.
The diamond surround is a multi-tiered ballerina construction built across three distinct zones — a close inner ring of baguettes surrounding the bezel, a wider arcing sweep across the shoulders, and flanking rows that carry coverage down the sides of the mounting. The effect reads as well from the side as from above. The tapered baguette cut was the stone of choice for this style precisely because it radiates linearly, throwing light in clean flashes rather than scattered brilliance. Sixty-three stones, 1.00 carats total weight, all present and well-seated.
The emerald is set in a partial bezel mount — protected at the girdle, open at the crown — maximizing light entry while securing the stone. Its interior shows the characteristic inclusions known in the trade as jardin, French for "garden," which the GIA recognizes as a normal and expected feature of natural emeralds, classified as Type III gemstones. Colombian emeralds are considered the world standard for the gem — prized above all other origins for their characteristic warm, saturated green and the depth of their color. Origin is documented by the consignor. Treatment status has not been independently verified and is disclosed accordingly.
The open ribbed gallery beneath the head keeps the ring light without sacrificing rigidity. The comfort-fit domed shank makes it wearable all day. Stamped 14K with maker's mark RJM — the registered trademark of Royal Jewelry Manufacturing Inc., a family-owned New York wholesale jewelry manufacturer with over four decades in the trade. USPTO records place first commercial use of this mark in January 1990, dating this piece to the early part of that decade.
A serious right-hand ring at an honest auction price. Bid with confidence.
CONDITION
Good condition overall. The gold retains strong luster with wear consistent with prior use. All 63 baguette diamonds are present and well-seated with no tilting or gaps observed. The emerald is secure in its setting and displays natural jardin inclusions characteristic of Type III gemstones — visible in close-up photos, not eye-distracting at normal viewing distance, and consistent with natural origin. Emerald treatment status is unverified. Light surface marks on the shank consistent with age. No chips or repairs noted. Polishing left to buyer's preference.
