A wide, domed wedding band in warm 14-karat yellow gold, stamped 585 to the interior — the Continental European standard for 14k gold. The exterior carries a high mirror polish; the brushed interior surface is typical of period handcraft. At 7.19 mm wide, this is a substantial band with real presence on the hand.
What sets this ring apart is the hand-engraved monogram inside, dated 1872. That inscription transforms a handsome gold band into a document — 150 years of history carried in a few script letters. Wide commemorative bands of this D-profile were the standard for Victorian wedding gold, and the rich, buttery color here is characteristic of Continental European production from that era.
