Odegard Handmade Carpet 100 KPI — Crimson Floral 13'×10'
An imposing room-size carpet by Odegard Carpets Collection Environments, hand-knotted in the Himalayan tradition from Himalayan wool at 100 knots per inch — above Odegard's standard production threshold, and the density at which the brand's characteristic motif precision and pile resilience fully assert themselves. Odegard, founded by Stephanie Odegard in 1987, holds commissions from the J. Paul Getty Museum, multiple Ritz Carlton properties, and Restaurant Daniel in New York City. The maker's original sewn label appears on the reverse.
The design presents an asymmetric, overscale composition of stylized lotus blooms set in cusped, gold-outlined medallion frames against a deep espresso-brown ground. Blooms are rendered in saturated crimson, scarlet, and brick-red; sweeping vine passages and medallion borders outlined in warm amber-gold animate the field with controlled energy. Horizontal registers of serrated foliage alternate with open ground passages dominated by the large central blooms — a compositional vocabulary consistent with Odegard's Tibetan-influenced design language. A Knecht AG certification label on the reverse documents professional cold-water washing and soil-release treatment by this Swiss specialist finishing house, indicating prior European ownership. A coordinating rug pad is included.
CONDITION
Good. The carpet shows honest signs of use consistent with a well-maintained interior — no stains, no odors, no rips, no tears, and no remarkable damage to the field or borders. Pile wear is present and appropriate to the grade; colors remain vivid and the overall visual impact is strong.
