Oak Corner Curio Cabinet — Figural Carved Columns, Paw Feet, Glass Shelves
An American Golden Oak corner curio cabinet, built in solid quartersawn oak with hand-carved ornament of exceptional quality throughout. The shaped pediment gallery crowns a continuous acanthus-and-scroll frieze along the full cornice face. Flanking the bowed single-glass door are full-length figural pilasters — carved female figures emerging from foliate sheaths, with birds and cascading botanical motifs descending to the base. The cabinet stands on boldly carved lion's paw feet with a molded base rail. The interior is finished with four mirrored back panels and three fully removable, adjustable glass shelves over an open display floor.
CONDITION
Good — the cabinet is sturdy with carved oak surfaces intact and finish showing warm honey-amber patina consistent with age. The glass shelves present minor imperfections at their edges, which aren't visible once installed.
